Prime Minister Tarique Rahman announced that the salaries of primary teachers will be increased in phases. He also stated that training arrangements would be made for teachers to improve the quality of education.

The Prime Minister made this announcement while addressing the National Parliament session on Wednesday (July 8).

He further stated that school uniforms and bags would be provided to approximately 1.2 crore students across 65,000 government schools nationwide.

Regarding the education sector, the Prime Minister commented that during the autocratic Awami League government’s tenure, only infrastructure was developed in education, with little initiative taken for human resource development.

On the agriculture sector, he mentioned that closed agriculture-based factories would be reopened. Additionally, the government has undertaken various initiatives to develop a modern, technology-dependent agricultural system, moving away from traditional farming methods. He also announced plans to export jackfruit from Bangladesh to China.

Addressing the stock market, the Prime Minister stated that the government plans to identify and bring to justice those involved in the stock market scandals that occurred during the previous Awami League government’s term. He also remarked that the country’s stock market is gradually returning to a positive state due to various government measures.
