    Positive Trend in Remittances: USD 752 Million Arrives in Six Days

    In the first six days of the current May, the country received USD 752 million in remittances. This accounts for an average daily remittance inflow of USD 125.3 million.

    Arif Hossain Khan, spokesperson for Bangladesh Bank, provided this information on Thursday (May 7).

    He stated that in the first six days of current May, the country received USD 752 million in remittances, compared to USD 625 million during the same period last year. This indicates an increase in remittance flow year-on-year.

    From July of the current fiscal year to May 6, the country has received USD 30.085 billion in remittances, marking a 19.60 percent increase year-on-year.

    Previously, in April, the country received USD 3.1273 billion, and in March, it received USD 3.75505 billion in remittances, which was the highest ever recorded in a single month in the country’s history.

    In February and January, remittances amounted to USD 3.02076 billion and USD 3.17094 billion respectively. In December, the country received USD 3.2267 billion, and in November, USD 2.88952 billion in remittances.

    Furthermore, in October and September, remittances were USD 2.56348 billion and USD 2.68588 billion respectively. In August and July, the country received USD 2.42189 billion and USD 2.4780 billion in remittances respectively.

    Meanwhile, throughout the 2024-25 fiscal year, expatriates sent USD 30.328 billion in remittances, which is the highest recorded annual remittance inflow in the country’s history for any specific fiscal year.
