Leaving behind his World Cup disappointment, Neymar returned to the field with an outstanding performance. In his comeback match for Santos, he scored a brace. However, immediately after that match, he received bad news—the Brazilian star has been suspended for the next game due to a yellow card.

Although Santos didn’t assert much dominance in the first half of the match, Neymar put his team ahead just before halftime. He scored the goal through excellent coordination with his teammate Barrial.

However, Chapecoense made a brilliant comeback in the second half, scoring two goals to take a 2-1 lead in the match.

Towards the end of the match, Santos grew desperate to secure at least one point. Despite failing to create clear opportunities, they maintained pressure on their opponents. Ultimately, in the 89th minute, the hosts were awarded a penalty. Bruno Matias Santos of Chapecoense fouled Caballero inside the box. From the spot kick, Neymar scored his second goal, bringing Santos level at 2-2.

However, Neymar had been expressing dissatisfaction with several of the referee’s decisions since the beginning of the match. In the second half, when opponent Bruno Tubara fouled him, a heated exchange ensued between the two. To control the situation, the referee showed a yellow card to both players.

It is because of this yellow card that Neymar will be unable to play in the league’s next match. According to Brazilian League rules, a suspension for one match is enforced when a certain number of yellow cards accumulate. With the yellow card received against Chapecoense, Neymar’s card count in the current league season has reached six.

He had previously been suspended for one match due to yellow card accumulation. This time, Neymar has again incurred a suspension for the same reason. Consequently, the Brazilian star will not be able to feature for Santos in their upcoming league match against Sao Paulo.
